DebConf24 3일 차('24. 7. 30.)에 제가 참가한 세션은 다음과 같습니다.

'Step towards a modern CMS for our web pages' 세션은 데비안 개발자 두 명(진행자)과 17명의 참석자가 함께 자유롭게 이야기를 나누는 BoF(Birds of a Feather) 방식으로 진행되었습니다. 이 토론의 결과로, 데비안 공식 홈페이지(https://www.debian.org)를 당장 변경하는 것은 아니며, 향후 데비안 공식 홈페이지를 개선하고자 이야기를 나누고, 이를 통해 아이디어를 얻는 시발점인 셈이었습니다.

앞으로 데비안 공식 홈페이지는 헤드리스 CMS(Headless Content Management System)을 사용하고, WML(Website Meta Language) 기반 웹 페이지들을 마크업 언어(Markdown 또는 reStructuredText등)로 점차 대체할 것으로 보입니다.

'Attracting and retaining new contributors: insights from Brazil' 세션은 브라질의 데비안 커뮤니티가 위키(https://wiki.debianbsb.org), IRC(Internet Relay Chat) 운영, 텔레그램 대화방 운영, 매주 온라인 미팅 시행, 멘토링 프로그램 운영 등의 방법으로 브라질 내 데비안 사용자들의 참여를 유도하고 성과를 냈음을 알 수 있었습니다.

'contributors.debian.org: what is, how to benefit from it and how to help' 세션도 인상깊었습니다. 기억에 남았던 발표 슬라이드는 다음과 같습니다.

Key concepts

- no process to become a contributor
- simple, and doesn't need to be perfect
- each team takes care of its contributors
- make no distinction between being a DD or not

By becoming a Debian Contributor...

- you have a summary of your contributions
- we publicly acknowledge your work
- you might feel thanked
- you get reputation
- you get spammed

 
By adding your team to Debian Contributors...

- you make your team's members Debian Contributors
- you motivative potential members to join your team
- you will be thanked for not overloading others maintaining your team's data source

How to help

- improve the wiki
- improve the code
- adopt a data source(then give them back!)
- join the BoF

'Group Photo' 시간에는 DebConf24 참가자들이 한자리에 모여서 함께 단체 사진을 찍었습니다. 올해는 저도 DebConf의 한 일원이 되어 DebConf24 단체 사진을 찍으니 감회가 새로웠습니다.

'Bits from the DPL' 세션은 데비안 프로젝트 리더(Debian Project Leader)가 단독으로 발표를 진행했습니다. 데비안 프로젝트 리더를 실제로 직접 보는 것만으로 몰입되었습니다.
