데비안은 커널 업그레이드가 필요없나요?

1.

우분투는 시도 때도 없이 커널 업그레이드를 해싸서 grub.cfg 다시 입맛대로 편집하느라 귀찮았는데

데비안은 커널 업그레이드가 자동적으로 지원되지 않는군요.

10.2 10.3 10.4 이럴 때만 커널이 업그레이드 되나요?

아니면 데비안은 커널 업그레이드가 필요없나요?

보니까 kernel.org에서 직접 다운받아서 빌드해야 되나 보던데...

일반 사용자는 커널 업그레이드가 보안상 필요 없는지

아니면 그냥 가끔 apt upgrade만 하고 신경 꺼도 되는지

수동으로 빌드를 (이걸 어떻게 하는지는 둘째 치고) 해야 되는지 궁금합니다.

그리고 리눅스 한글입력기는 모아치기 안 되는건가요. 어차피 순차방식 타이핑 타입이라서 모아치기 안 하기는 하지만 오타 교정이 가끔 쏠쏠하던데...

  1. There's no correct version. Debian packagers decide to ship a kernel, and you are free to change it to whatever you like. The correct version is whatever you want it to be.
  2. Unless you changed it, there's no reason it should be different than what packagers shipped. Either you change your kernel or an update gets issued through the package manager. Debian's package manager is apt.

That is not true. If you install the package "linux-image-amd64", well, assuming that this is your architecture, then keeping this package updated also means to always have the latest available kernel in Debian 10 installed.

Then, to automatically keep the system up to date you could install and configure apt-dater.
